Directions for Drontal® (Known as Drontal® Plus in USA) Weigh dogs and cats before treatment. Dogs and cats are treated by weight with the appropriate sized tablet or combination of tablets. Drontal® Plus is given as a single dose by mouth. Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary. Drontal® Plus is available in three sizes for dogs. Cats should be dosed according to body-weight. Drontal Plus for cats is given as a single dose by mouth. Cats should be dosed on an empty stomach. One Drontal® Plus Cat Dewormer Tablet treats up to 9 lb in weight. Cats and kittens 4 lb and under should be given ½ tablet. A common regime for treatment is to worm puppies and kittens every 2 weeks of age from 2 weeks old until 12 weeks, monthly from 3 months until 6 months then every 3 months as an adult. Treat breeding bitches prior to mating then 10 days before whelping and 2 and 4 weeks after whelping.How should this medication be given: Give Drontal Plus exactly as directed by the veterinarian. Drontal Plus is given as a single dose. The usual dose of small dog tablets (22.7mg) for dogs 2-4 lbs is 1/2 tablet, 5-7 lbs is 1 tablet, 8-12 lbs is 1 1/2 tablets, 13-18 lbs is 2 tablets and 19-25 lbs is 2 1/2 tablets. The usual dose of medium to large dog tablets (68mg) for dogs 26-30 lbs is 1 tablet, 31-44 lbs is 1 1/2 tablets, 45-60 lbs is 2 tablets, 61-90 lbs is 3 tablets, and 91-120 lbs is 4 tablets. Tablets may be mixed with food. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended. Store Drontal Plus at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. |

Canine cartilage helps protect the bones that make up the joint and is important to overall joint health. The term arthritis is actually a broad term used to describe a large number of medical conditions resulting in joint pain. Some terms commonly used to describe arthritis in dogs include osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, hip dysplasia, and inflammatory joint disease.
